Activities & Programs

The Fayette County Parks & Recreation Department prints a brochure for the following seasons: Winter/Summer/Fall. This brochure is available at the Fayette County Parks & Recreation Office, Kiwanis Recreation Center, Administration Complex, and Fayette County Library.

The current brochure is also available for download from this website. In addition to programs listed in the brochure, Parks & Recreation offers additional programs throughout the year. The current list of programs is shown on the Online Registration page. Be sure to check back often to see what's coming up next.

Registration for Programs

All fees are payable in advance. The recreation department does not accept telephone registrations.  Click Online Registration to register for a program.

Classes that do not attain the minimum enrollment will be cancelled two (2) days prior to the scheduled start. All classes/programs have deadlines that must be met in order to assist staff with the organization and planning of each class. Registration will continue until the class/trip has met its maximum enrollment.

Fees and Cancellations

All fees are payable in advance. The recreation department does not accept telephone registrations. A person is considered registered when a payment is accompanied with a registration form.   Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check, online credit cards, or debit cards.  Individuals must verify that their registration information has been received.

Classes that do not attain the minimum enrollment will be cancelled two (2) days prior to the scheduled start.

NOTHING CAN KILL A PROGRAM QUICKER than everyone waiting until the last minute to register. If you would like to participate in a program/trip/event, please REGISTER WELL IN ADVANCE of the registration deadline. At some point we must determine if enrollment is sufficient to hold the activity. If minimums are not met we will cancel that program/trip/event. Your cooperation will assist us in providing the best organization and administration of our programs.

Wait List Policy

Programs/trips/events are offered on a " first come, first served" basis. Registration may be limited due to space limitations or instructor ratio. When a program/trip/event is full, you may be placed on a waiting list. Office staff will contact you if a space becomes available.

Refunds

  1. Classes that do not attain the minimum enrollment will be cancelled two days before the scheduled start and participants will receive a full refund.
  2. Refunds will be given to participants if requested in writing at least five work days before a class/program/trip.  An administration fee will be charged for any written refund request.
  3. Refunds will be given after a class/program/trip begins only with a doctor's statement of the participant's incapacitation, illness, or injury within five working days from the start of the class.
  4. If payment is made online, there will not be a refund for the service fees.
  5. Regarding trips and charter bus trips that admission must be paid in advance, refunds will only be given if we can sell your space and ticket.  No refunds for no-shows. 

Non Resident Registration

Recreation programs/trips/events are open to non-residents on a space available basis. Out of county fees will reflect a 50% surcharge in addition to the printed fee.
