Assistant Administrator

W. Jason Tinsley is a public administration professional with over 20 years of experience delivering effective local government management solutions across Georgia and Florida. Known for his multi-disciplinary expertise and results-driven leadership, Tinsley has successfully overseen diverse departments, consistently enhancing the efficiency and quality of public services.
 
Since 2018, Tinsley has served as County Manager for the Upson County Board of Commissioners. In this role, he had oversight of all county operations and ensured compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. He worked closely with the Board to deliver innovative, efficient, and fiscally responsible government services.
 
Tinsley’s career includes a range of leadership roles: Senior Management and Budget Analyst for Leon County, Florida; Assistant County Manager and Finance Director for Habersham County, Georgia; County Administrator for Wayne County, Georgia; City Manager for the City of Jefferson, Georgia; and County Manager for Marion County, Georgia. These roles have equipped him with deep expertise in local government public service delivery, finance, policy development, economic development, and stakeholder engagement.
 
An active member of the professional community, Tinsley has served on the Board of Managers for the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) as President of the County Managers/Administrators Section. He also holds leadership positions with the National Association of Counties (NACo), the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and the Georgia City/County Management Association (GCCMA).
 
Tinsley holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master of City Management from East Tennessee State University. He and his wife, Kaylyn, live in Thomaston, Georgia, with their four children: Jackson, Joel, Jensen, and Anne. In his free time, he enjoys coaching youth sports, running, and spending time with his family along the Georgia coast.
