All exemption applications must be made in person at the Assessors' Office or online at the
 Fayette County GIS Website 
Taxpayers can now apply for the homestead exemption beyond the historic deadline of April 1st; they may apply up to the end of their 45-day window to appeal their notice of assessment in the current tax year.
The Assessors' Office is responsible for the valuation of Real and Personal property. Beginning April 1, 2025, we will also receive applications for homestead exemptions.
