1st Friday of the Month (20-minute sessions starting at 10:00 AM)
Is your child ready to start learning to read on their own, but you’re not sure how best to teach them? Then sign-up for one of our early literacy classes! Taught by Katy Farr, an Orton-Gillingham trained educator with over 40 years of teaching experience, these classes will assess where your child is on their reading journey and help them take the next step. Parents will also learn the best methods for helping their child become an independent, successful reader.
Register your child by calling (770) 305-5337 or email Katie Rees.

Gracie- 2nd Saturday of the month (11:00 AM—12:00 PM)
Is your child struggling to read? Then check out CAREing PAWS! These sessions are a part of the R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program which aims to improve a child’s reading and communication skills by allowing them to read out loud to a registered therapy dog.

Chess Club (All Ages)
2nd Saturday of the month (10:00—11:30 AM)
Do you love chess, but have no one to play with? Then check out your local library’s chess club! There are no age or skill restrictions for this program. The only requirement is a love of the game! A chess coach will be present to teach beginners how to play and to offer insights on how to improve your game to more advanced players. FCPL will provide chess sets, but attendees are welcome to bring their own sets if they would like.
Crochet Club (Ages 7+)
3rd Saturday of the Month (2:00—3:30 PM)
Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been crocheting for years, our crochet club is the perfect place to practice your craft! Learn the basics of crochet from one of our volunteers or find a new project to work on from one of our resource books.
Registration is only required if you do not own a crochet hook. To register, call (770) 305-5337 or email Katie Rees.
Crochet Club will not be held in December due to the holidays.
