This project is to perform an evaluation and provide rehabilitation recommendations of the existing multi-use path bridge over Camp Creek along Redwine Road. The existing timber structure is approximately 10-years old and is used by golf carts, pedestrians, and bicyclists. The decking has weathered and many of the wooden deck boards are rotting.
This project is complete. Gresham Smith as a subconsultant to Croy Engineering was scoped with inspecting and assessing the condition of the bridge. Based on the existing conditions of the bridge, three alternatives were provided to eliminate the current failure and to allow for low future maintenance of the bridge.
Alternative 1: Replace timber bridge with composite decking
Alternative 2: Replace timber bridge with concrete superstructure
Alternative 3: Replace existing 340' bridge with 75' prefabricated steel bridge
