Mission Statement
The Mission of Information Technology is to provide Enterprise Technology solutions to County leaders and staff so they can meet their goals and deliver effective and efficient services to our customers.
Major Department Functions
- Provide installation and support services for Desktop Computers, Laptops, Servers, and Peripherals such as Printers, Scanners, and Plotters.
- Provide installation and support services for the County's WAN and LAN Networking equipment including all Routers, Switches, Bridges, and Wireless Networking equipment.
- Provide installation, maintenance, and monitoring of Network Security Systems such as Firewalls, VPN Devices, Antivirus/Antispyware Systems, and Spam Prevention Systems.
- Provide supplemental support for Telecommunication systems including Digital and VoIP (Voice over IP) Phone Systems, Voice Mail/Unified Messaging Systems, and Network Fax Systems.
- Provide installation and support of the County's Network Infrastructure including WAN/LAN Fiber Optic and Copper cabling, Equipment racks, Patch panels, and Outlets.
- Provide support services to assist third party vendors in maintaining the various Software Systems used throughout the County.
- To install and provide support services for Desktop software programs such as Microsoft Office Products, Desktop Publishing software, Email Programs, and other similar programs.
- Provide support services for County access to the State of Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC).
- Provide leadership, enhancements and support services for the development of the County's Geographic Information System (GIS).
- Provide support for the County's Cable Television equipment including the character generator, cabling, and amplifiers.
- Maintain the County's Internet presence including maintenance and support of the County's Web Server, Domain Name Server, and Email Servers.
- Provide routine Backup and Archival of the County's data in accordance with the County's Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
- Provide on-call support services for Public Safety Departments on a 7-day, 24 hour basis.
- Provide support for in-house developed computer programs.
