This is a culvert replacement project on Mercedes Trail. The deteriorating 48-inch corrugated metal pipe is being replaced with a Double 9-ft by 6-ft Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert along with minor improvements to an existing and adjacent 18-inch corrugated metal pipe.

Construction of the Mercedes Trail culvert replacement project began August 24, 2020. Clearing is complete, downstream demolition of the existing corrugate metal pipe began August 31, 2020. This project is on schedule to be complete this Fall. *Indicates changes approved by Board of Commissioners
Timeline:
- 10/5/2020 Temporary road work for traffic shift
- 10/6/2020 Excavation of upstream culvert area
- 10/21/2020 Forms and steel placed to prepare for concrete.
- 10/30/2020 Crew completed concrete pour on upstream portion of culvert.
- 11/6/2020 Crew removed forms. They are backfilling dirt and compacting around culvert.
- 11/12/2020 Backfilling and compaction of the sub-base is complete.
- 11/20/2020 Plumbing onsite to install water main over new culvert
- 12/18/2020 Rip rap installed
- 12/31/20 No site activity due to wet site conditions
- 1/13/2021 - Crew installed curbing and backfilled. Final grading, stabilization and paving pending.
- 1/27/2021 - McLeroy Grading paved project limits.
- 2/10/2021 - Pine Valley crew grading areas not saturated by rain events.
- 2/24/2021 - Site conditions have been saturated. No activity.
- 3/24/2021 - Crew final graded site and is ready for stabilization.
- 4/7/2021 - Site stabilized. Pending establishment of vegetation.
- 5/12/2021 - Vegetation well established.
