The best way to prevent stormwater pollution is learning more about it, then sharing what you learned!

Below are educational resources for teachers, students and homeowners.

Rivers Alive Rivers Alive is an annual volunteer event focused on cleaning Georgia’s waterways. Clean-ups happen across the state. Visit their website to learn how you can help!
EPA’s How Is My Waterway? The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) collects data on waterways across the country to check for pollution or “impairment”. This tool is useful for learning about the health of waterways in your area, and any possible pollutants impacting your waterways.
H2O Hero The H2O Hero website provides information via an interactive webpage about common types of stormwater pollution and green infrastructure (a type of pollution prevention).
The Clean Water Campaign Metropolitan North Georgia’s Water Planning District started the Clean Water Campaign. The campaign addresses stormwater pollution through-out the Metro-Atlanta area and contains lesson plans that teach kids of all ages about stormwater pollution.
EPA Resources for Students and Educators about Nonpoint Source (NPS) Pollution The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) created and compiled educational materials designed to teach young children about nonpoint source (NPS) pollution. These materials, along with related environmental education resources are available for free!
EPA’s Do Your Part - Be SepticSmart The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) created a guide to help citizens avoid stormwater pollution through septic system maintenance. Most Fayette County residents have septic systems – learn more and become part of the solution to pollution!

The more you know, the less you pollute!
