2020 Pavement Preservation Updates

NOTICE:
Your Street WILL be Closing

Please have your car out of the work area by 7:30 AM (See Map)

WHY IS MY ROAD CLOSING
Roads in your subdivision are having a High Density Mineral Bond installed that will keep your roads in good condition for an extended period of time. You can expect less cracking and potholes as your roads age after receiving this treatment. If the roads are driven on prior to the cones and barriers being removed the treatment will not bond to the asphalt and the surface treatment will peel off and leave tracks permanently on the road. In addition any vehicle that drives on the wet treatment will most likely get the material on the vehicle causing possible damage to the vehicle.

MY ROAD IS IN GOOD CONDITION, WHY IS SOMETHING BEING INSTALLED?
This is a proactive strategy to extend pavement serviceability while the road is still in good condition. Once roads begin to deteriorate, more costly and intrusive rehabilitation is required. Having roads in good condition will help support his/her property values and as well as reduce intrusive road closures costly rehabilitation over time.

SPRINKLERS MUST BE TURNED OFF
Water may damage the installation of the surface treatment. Please do not have sprinklers set to come on 24 hours before the road closure, during the road closure, or 24 hours after the road closure.

DELIVERIES / TRASH SERVICE
Please schedule all delivers around this closure. If you have a private Trash Service please notify them of this closure.

SHUTTLE SERVICE
A shuttle service is provided for your convenience 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM for the homes on the streets being treated. The shuttle will take you to/from your car parked outside the closed street. The shuttle service driver’s ability to recognize the curing stage of the newly installed surface treatment and lighter weight vehicle makes this service possible. *To reach the shuttle please call 404-615-7198 from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

*SHUTTLE DISCLAIMER: There are times when the entire roadway is simply not available for any travel whatsoever and the shuttle will not be able to perform the service until the proper amount of curing has taken place. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to improve your roadways.

Fayette County Road Department has selected the roads listed below for pavement preservation treatment to give the road a paved appearance after completion. Pavement preservation is a cost effective way to extend road life at a fraction of the cost of traditional asphalt overlay.

Recent weather has caused delays in the treatment schedule. This page has been created to keep citizens informed on the pavement preservation schedule through daily updates.

  • Annelise Park - Friday, June 12th
  • Trustin Lakes – Friday, June 12th
  • Mount Brook – Monday, June 15th, Tuesday June 16th
  • Adams Park Drive – Monday, June 15th
  • Woosley Park – Tuesday, June 16th
  • Ellen’s Ridge – Wednesday, June 17th
