In the spring of 2019, the Fayette County Department of Public Works and the South Fulton Community Improvement District (CID) completed a corridor study of State Route (SR) 74 from US Route 29 on the north end to SR 54 in Peachtree City. The work was completed with a grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and in cooperation with the Peachtree City, Fairburn, and the Town of Tyrone.
The goals of this study were to establish a vision for the future of the corridor, understand long-term transportation needs, address congestion and future growth, and provide capacity to maintain corridor mobility.
After close examination of travel demand, traffic operations, and corridor access, multiple recommendations for the corridor were composed. Recommendations include intersection improvement alternatives, multi-use paths, and workplace commute options to name a few.
The final report of the SR 74 Corridor Study is available through the links below.
