Interactive Display: What’s Your Love Language?
Throughout the month of February (during business hours)
Love exists in many different forms: love for your family, friendship, romantic love, and self-love (to name a few). No matter what you think of when you hear the word “love,” we all express this life-changing feeling in different ways. Visit the teen section to learn about the five love languages and share which one fits you best.
Choose a Romance Trope and Find Your Next Read!
Throughout the month of February (during business hours)
Every great romance story has a recurring theme, character type, or plot device, known as a “trope,” that is used to build the narrative of the story and create anticipation for the reader. Maybe you love a good enemies-tolovers story, fake dating or second-chance romance. Whichever one you desire, visit the teen section and find a book recommendation that fits your preference.
Scavenger Hunt: Black History Month
Throughout the month of February (during business hours)
Learn about important and interesting figures in Black history that you don’t normally hear about as you make your way through the teen section to complete your search. Find all of the answers and win a prize!
Nintendo Switch Night: Mario Kart Tournament
Monday, February 3 (4:30—5:30 PM)
Join us for a brand-new program featuring our new Nintendo Switch! During this time, we’ll host a Mario Kart tournament, and the winner will receive a special prize. Stay tuned for more games in the future!
Take & Make Craft Kits: Valentine’s Day Cootie Bugs
Available beginning on Monday, February 10 (during business hours)
Visit the library and grab a craft kit with (nearly) all of the materials you’ll need to make your own cootie bug!
Available at the front desk for ages 13—17 while supplies last.
Teen Movie Night
Tuesday, February 11 (6:00—8:30 PM)
Join us as we celebrate Black History Month with a screening of the novel - base film “The Hate U Give” (2018, PG-13, 2h12m).
Ages 13—17. Refreshments will be provided.
