Recreation Activities 

Recreation Activities

Lake Horton, Lake Kedron, and Lake McIntosh are water supply reservoirs and are governed by the 2016 Fayette County Reservoir Management Plan. This plan sets out activities that are permitted or prohibited.


Hours:
6:30am - 6:00pm EST (fall/winter)
6:30am - 8:30pm EDT (spring/summer)


ALL RESERVOIRS

  • All vehicles with a Non-Fayette County tag must display an annual pass for admission. An annual pass can be purchased for $300.00. For information, contact Parks & Recreation at 770.716.4320.
  • All boats must meet the State registration requirements, including decals.
  • Anyone fishing or boating must comply with GA DNR operating requirements, including life preservers, age requirements, etc.
  • Sailboats, rowboats, and electric motors are permitted.
  • Gasoline, hydrocarbon, or alcohol-fueled boats are prohibited.
  • Removal of Grass Carp "Amur" is strictly prohibited. Amur can be identified by its silver-gray color and elongated body. They can grow up to 35 pounds.
  • Commercial activity is prohibited (i.e. the teaching of sailing or skiing, or renting paddle boats or canoes).
  • No swimming, skiing, scuba diving, or other bodily contact with the water is allowed.
  • No alcoholic beverages.
  • Pets must be on leash at all times.
  • Any person who violates these rules shall be subject to fines and penalties not to exceed the limits established for the State Court of Fayette County.

LAKE HORTON

1275 Antioch Road, Fayetteville, GA 30215

  • Lake Horton is a 780 acre reservoir and yields up to 14 million gallons per day for drinking water production.
  • Amenities include paved walking trails, boat ramps, picnic areas, fishing, and restrooms.

LAKE KEDRON

420 N Peachtree Parkway, Peachtree City, GA 30269

  • Lake Kedron is a 235 acre reservoir and yields up to 4 million gallons per day for drinking water production.
  • Public access to the lake is via the boat launch on N Peachtree Parkway.

LAKE McINTOSH

3501 TDK Boulevard, Peachtree City, GA 30269

  • Lake McIntosh is a 650 acre reservoir and yields up to 10 million gallons per day for drinking water production.
  • Amenities include walking trails, two pavilions, playground area, two boat docks, and restrooms.
  • Public access to the lake is via the boat launch on TDK Boulevard.
