Almost all our materials check out for two weeks. Patrons must present their PINES library card to check out items.
At checkout, the patron receives a printout which lists each borrowed item and the due date. Reference items cannot be checked out.
If a book, DVD, or CD checks out for two weeks, it can be renewed for two additional weeks. Most materials may be renewed for two checkout periods. Materials may be renewed over the phone, with your library card number during library hours. If a hold has been placed on an item, it cannot be renewed.
To renew online go to our web site at:
Enter your library card number (14 digit # on back of library card) and enter your pin # (last four digits of your phone #), select renew materials. If you have already renewed twice or if there is a hold on the item, you will not be allowed to renew.
The overdue fine for materials is $.20 per day per item. The library gives a one-day grace period for overdue materials.
If a book is lost, replacement fees are assessed. Replacement costs include the price of the book, a $10.00 processing fee, and any accrued fines.
PINES patrons may place holds on most books and audiovisual materials owned by any PINES library. Items which are placed on hold will be delivered via courier from the owning library to the patron's desired pickup library.
