Solicitor General

From the Solicitor General

As your Solicitor-General, I am responsible for the prosecution of all traffic, misdemeanor, and ordinance violation cases in the State Court of Fayette County. Some of the most common offenses I handle include crimes of domestic violence, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and thefts involving property or services valued at less than $1500 ($500 in the case of shoplifting).

My experience has taught me that our judicial system must be governed by fairness, impartiality and reason. My office approaches the prosecution of every case with these objectives in mind. It is our goal to treat every person involved in the criminal process in a courteous and professional manner.

I am strongly committed to assisting victims of crimes in the pursuit of justice. I have on staff a victim's advocate who monitors and assists in every case where there is a victim. For victims of crime the legal system can be confusing and overwhelming. Our advocate is here to advise victims about their rights, the stages of the judicial process, and to offer support.

I will continue to work to protect our roads from drunk drivers, punish domestic violence offenders, and ensure a safe community for all of us. As a husband and father, I have very personal reasons for wanting to protect Fayette County. I thank you for allowing me to serve you.
