Erosion & Sediment Control

Fayette County Environmental Management Department implements and oversees state rules and regulations through the County Soil Erosion, Sedimentation and Pollution Control Ordinance that helps preserve natural resources in Fayette County.

Fayette County Environmental Technicians regularly inspect permitted projects and respond to resident complaints and inquiries. Sites are inspected for using Best Management Practices detailed in the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission’s Green Book and Field Manual. Also, Environmental Technicians check Qualified Personnel performing work on site for appropriate training and certification required in the Soil Erosion, Sedimentation and Pollution Control Ordinance.
