Responsibilities

The Fayette County Marshal's Office (FCMO) is a law enforcement agency and the Marshals are sworn law enforcement officers recognized through the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council. FCMO's responsibilities also include the enforcement of hunting, fishing and boating safety regulations under Georgia law. Other duties include the enforcement of county ordinances and codes. Implementing safety precautions on county-owned property and waterways ensures the safety of the public when visiting Fayette County facilities whether a park, lake, recreation facility, or business office. Additionally, the Fayette County Marshal’s Office is responsible for the protection of Fayette County facilities and properties located throughout the unincorporated area of Fayette County and in Peachtree City, Tyrone, Fayetteville, Brooks, Woolsey, and Starr’s Mill. Incidents occurring on county property, whether accidental or intentional, are investigated by the Marshal’s Office to determine whether criminal activity is involved or if any county liabilities exist.
