It is my great privilege to announce the promotion of Firefighter/Paramedic David Carmichael to the rank of Fire Apparatus Operator / Paramedic (FAO/P).
FAO/P Carmichael is currently assigned to Station 5 on B-Shift, where he has routinely served as a relief FAO, Firefighter/Paramedic, and all-around excels in his service to the community. He has enormous dedication to the citizens he serves, as well as a calming personality that makes his patients feel at ease in his care. In his new role, he will be conducting a job that I believe to be one of the toughest in the department. He is required to maintain a mastery skillset of two very different and technical disciplines, fire apparatus operations and patient care as a lead paramedic. There is no doubt in my mind that he can, and has shown to, master both.
FAO/Paramedic Carmichael will fill the vacancy left by the recent appointment of Quartermaster Matthew Hyder.
Congratulations FAO/P Carmichael! This is a well-deserved promotion, and I have enormous confidence in your abilities to provide exceptional service and care to our Community and Citizens.
