Updated 10/2/2026
Fayette County 911, currently housed with the Emergency Operations Center on McDonough Road, plans to establish a fully equipped backup 911 center at the Antioch Water Treatment Plant to maintain operations during natural, man‑made, or technological disruptions. The new site will mirror all major 911 functions, support uninterrupted public safety dispatch, and provide space for EOC operations if the primary location is compromised. This upgrade also replaces aging analog CAMA trunk technology with modern digital infrastructure and positions the county to transition smoothly to Georgia’s statewide ESInet system. Additionally, SIP VoIP lines—already used elsewhere in the county—will enable automatic, multi‑layer rerouting to prevent missed emergency calls during service interruptions.
