Fayette Senior Services operates a 23,000‑square‑foot Life Enrichment Center that provides dining, fitness, recreation, case management, in‑home services, transportation, wellness programs, and a Meals on Wheels hub. Supported by 20,000 volunteer hours, the Center serves about 5,000 seniors annually, delivering 80,000 home‑delivered meals, serving 28,000 café meals, and providing 25,000 transportation trips with a 13‑vehicle fleet.
The requested enhancements total three components:• $675,000 for transport vehicles to replace four vans per year for three years, supporting 25,000 annual medical and service trips, including dialysis and Older Americans Act obligations.
• $325,000 for a café renovation that doubles serving capacity, encloses the patio for year‑round use, and adds flexible fitness/multipurpose space.
• $250,000 for a walk‑in freezer and expanded storage to meet rising Meals on Wheels demand, reduce daily inventory turnover, support café operations, and enable acceptance of approximately $100K per year in additional donated food.
These upgrades strengthen senior nutrition, transportation, and community engagement services as demand continues to grow.
