Walking Trails & Livestock Building

Updated 10/2/2026

The Animal Shelter Masterplan includes two major improvements: a $400,000 walking trail and a $85,000 livestock building. The walking path will circle the new shelter, providing a shaded, well‑maintained space for volunteers and adopters to exercise dogs, while improving property appearance and helping control pests like ticks. The project also includes a 600‑square‑foot livestock building with stalls and a small fenced pasture to house animals such as pigs, goats, and chickens. The structure will have water, power, and fencing but no sewer or heating, supporting the shelter’s operational needs for housing small livestock.
