WATER SYSTEM WINS FIRST PLACE AT TOP OPS COMPETITION

Fayette County, GA - Fayette County Water System water operators won first place in the Georgia American Water Works Association (AWWA) Top Ops Competition. Top Ops is a Georgia AWWA competition held each year at the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) Spring Conference. The event tests the knowledge and expertise of water operations professionals through fast‑paced questions covering math, water system operations, maintenance, safety, laboratory procedures, and Safe Drinking Water Act regulations.

This was the third year Fayette County operators participated in the statewide competition. Teams from utilities across Georgia competed in a challenging contest for the prestigious “Top Ops” title. Team “Splash Masters” advanced through the rounds, defeating the defending champions and ultimately securing the championship in the final round.

“We are thrilled to have Georgia’s top performers, The Splash Masters, representing Fayette County Water System in this rigorous test of professional skill and knowledge. Their dedication and weekly preparation truly paid off,” said Susan Lee, Production and Operations Manager.
The  team included Jason Sears, Lab Analyst; Eddie Cove, Plant Operator II, and Dylan White, Plant Operator III.

As a result of their outstanding performance, the Georgia AWWA is sending the team to Washington, D.C. this summer to compete for the National Title.
