FAYETTE COUNTY CLERK TAMECA SMITH TO LEAD COUNTY CLERKS SECTION ON ACCG BOARD OF MANAGERS
FAYETTE COUNTY, GA – Fayette County Clerk Tameca Smith was recently elected as the County Clerks Representative on the Board of Managers for the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG). The ACCG Board of Managers was sworn in by state Rep. Chas Cannon during the Installation and Awards Luncheon at the Association’s recent annual conference in Chatham County.
"We are excited to welcome our newly installed Board of Managers, a group of leaders, passionate about public service, chosen by their peers to guide the association," said Executive Director Dave Wills. "Their dedication and expertise will be essential as we collaborate to enhance the well-being of Georgia's counties, which have one purpose, to provide essential and desirable services to constituents.”
Smith is a devoted servant leader whose life and work reflect a deep commitment to faith, integrity, and excellence. With a Master of Business Administration, she has faithfully served Fayette County for thirteen years, including the past nine as County Clerk. As a Masters Certified County Clerk, she completed the Clerks Master Education Management Development Certification in 2018, continuing to steward her gifts with diligence and purpose.
“I am truly honored to serve on the ACCG Board of Managers. I am proud to represent County Clerks across Georgia and to bring our collective voice to the table as we work together to strengthen county government,” Smith said.
Guided by the belief that we are called to grow in wisdom and understanding, Tameca has pursued continued professional development through the Certified County Official program with the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia, the Certified Public Manager® designation through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, and the Georgia Records Professional Certification earned in 2025.
Her leadership extends beyond the workplace into service to others. She currently serves as President of the Georgia County Clerks Association. She also serves as Sergeant at Arms for Toastmasters International–Fayette County Library Club and as Co-Chair of the Fayette County Community Remembrance Coalition. In recognition of her servant leadership, Tameca was honored as the 2022 ACCG Leadership Development Advocate of the Year.
