A major component of the Fayette Transportation Plan, the Master Path Plan (MPP) will establish goals, project prioritites, and operating and maintenance standards pertatining to paths for all the local governments within Fayette County. It will balance the needs of pedestrians, bicyclists, and golf carts.
At at minimum the MPP will include:
- An accurate assessment of existing path, sidewalk and bike lane infrastructure
- Recommendations for sepecific short- and long-term projects
- Ideas for consistency among local governments with respect to licensing and permitting, design standards, signs and pavement markings, and at-grade crossing controls
- A plan for operations and maintenance
- An assessment of funding needs for new projects and maintenance of existing infrastructure
